Harmful Chemicals in Hair Straighteners and Relaxers May Cause Cancer
A recent study by the National Institute of Health found that certain chemical hair straighteners and relaxers were linked to an increased risk of uterine cancer. In the study, participants were twice as likely to develop this rare form of cancer if they used chemical hair relaxers and straighteners at least four times a year.
