There are safer alternative designs available, yet the company doesn’t manufacture them as frequently. A Federal Aviation Administration statement said the two-seater plane was a 1983 Aerotek Pitts S-2B aircraft. It crashed in an empty field and caught on fire. Numerous emergency responders came to the scene, however, both perished in the crash.
